Mountain House, CA – The Mountain House High School EBL DECA Chapter recently celebrated a successful 2nd Annual MiniComp on November 9, 2024 drawing an impressive 220 attendees
and creating an atmosphere of teamwork, learning, and growth. More than just a competition, MiniComp fostered a sense of community among participants, showcasing the commitment and enthusiasm of the DECA members.
MHHS DECA’s EBL chapter, led by 2 student Directors Nidhish Somi and Sriniketh Boienipelly, is a comprehensive, year-long program designed to equip middle school students with fundamental business knowledge & provide a seamless transition to high school DECA. Through a diverse array of activities, competitions, and mentorship opportunities, participants develop a strong foundation in essential business principles and practices (Figure 1).
Students engaged in a variety of events designed to challenge their business knowledge and innovative thinking skills, preparing them for future opportunities. This experience served as a valuable stepping stone for members as they gear up for their next conference in February (Figure 2).
“It’s been incredible to see our EBL chapter getting to feel the competitive spirit of DECA,” said Kavya Nigam, MHHS DECA President. “Their energy and passion are inspiring. We’re excited to support them as they transition to high school and continue their journey with us.”
The EBL chapter is proud to announce that its members have refined their competitive skills as DECA members, excelling as not only as a part of the EBl chapter but the MHHS chapter in the near future. This achievement reflects the hard work of MHHS DECA’s dedicated officer team, focused team leads, and the invaluable support from judge volunteers to ensure smooth operations for MiniComp (Figure 3).
Looking back on this memorable event, MHHS DECA wants to extend a heartfelt thank you to DECA EBL advisor Dr. Kerry Moquett and MHHS DECA advisor Mrs. Cristin Caldwell, along with all the high school volunteer judges, team leads, and sponsors who made it possible. MHHS EBL is now looking ahead with excitement for the upcoming conference and are committed to guiding the next generation of business leaders and future DECA members.
